Static IP

A dedicated address your builds leave from, for allowlists. How to ask for one, and what Requested and Active mean.

A dedicated address your builds leave from, so a database, an artefact repository or a partner's API can allowlist you instead of a shared range.

On Settings, the Static egress IP card has Request a static IP. An owner, an admin or a billing member can press it; anyone else sees the card but cannot ask. The card appears once GitHub is connected.

A request is completed by a person on our side, who builds the address for your organisation. Until then the card reads Requested on the date you asked, and Withdraw request takes the request back.

Every job of your organisation leaves from that one address, and no other organisation uses it while it is yours.

If the route to the address is down when a job starts, the job does not start, rather than leave from a shared address that your allowlist would reject.

The card reads Active once the address has been billed. It does not show the address itself; ask us for it, and the card says to contact us to release it.

A static IP is billed per organisation, by the month. The pricing page has the rate.
